How to Get Relief From Writing Anxiety

Anxiety, apprehension, cold feet, consternation, dismay, distress, dread, fear, fright, horror, nervousness, panic, scare, strain, stress, tension, terror, trepidation, unease or uneasiness: whatever it’s called, you’ve got it.
And the reason is … you’ve got to write an article!
Writing anxiety or ‘writer’s block’ happens to all writers at some point in their writing lives. It may be that you don’t know what to write about or, with your topic firmly in place, you don’t know where to start.
At this point, procrastination sets in.
Doing anything, rather than actually writing, seems a whole lot better than putting pen to paper or fingers to the keyboard. Even walking the dog, in pouring rain and gale-force winds, has higher priority!
Try some of these ways to restore your writing equilibrium:
1. Avoid starting with a blank page. There’s nothing more daunting than beginning from nothing. Work with a template. This will help you to stay focused on your topic. Download and print out some appropriate free graphic organizers from the Internet or use graphic organizer software, like NotateIt, that will help you to rearrange and organise your thoughts in freestyle format.
2. brainstorm your topic. Take some time out for creative thinking with a friend or colleague. You’ll get some new twists on the theme, especially if they’re not ‘experts’ in your subject matter!
3. Write an outline. Just set out a list of headings. They don’t even have to be in order – you can always rearrange them later. Write each heading on a separate card or piece of paper and shuffle the result. A new order may emerge that you hadn’t thought of, giving you a new slant on your topic.
4. Use a whiteboard. Fix a large magnetic whiteboard on your wall and use it to rearrange your ideas. If a whiteboard on the wall feels too intrusive, try some inexpensive whiteboard software on your PC instead.
5. Break your task down into smaller chunks. From your outline, choose one heading and write. Then go on to another heading and write. It doesn’t matter which order you write in, because it can all be rearranged later. Not only that, you’re achieving your larger goal in a series of smaller steps and that makes it much more manageable.
6. Write in the way that you speak. It’s friendlier to read and it’s an easier and more natural way for you to write.
7. Don’t worry about perfection too soon. Spell checking, indenting paragraphs, changing font size – this is the icing on the cake. Just let your writing flow and, just for once, forget the grammar. Perfection can come later – at the redrafting stage.
8. Think about your readers in a different way. You may be anxious that your article is not “good enough” to be read by your peers. Remember, even if your audience are “experts”, they don’t know what you think about your subject. Nor does it mean that they know everything there is to know about a subject area. Target your writing towards an intelligent, enthusiastic, but non-expert, reader and your writing confidence will grow.
9. You’ve completed your writing. This is your first draft. The secret, now, is to redraft and redraft again. You’d be surprised at just how many things you’ll want to say differently when the sun rises tomorrow! Read your article once a day, make changes then put it aside until the next day. In a few days, you’ll read your article and find nothing to change. That’s when you’re ready to publish!
10. Believe in yourself. The first articles you write may not be perfect but the more you write, the better your style will become. It’s like learning to walk – all it takes is a little time and lots of practice.

Why do you assume the people who wrote the Bible were telling the truth and were credible sources?
How do you know the people who wrote the Bible didn’t just make all this stuff up, and the force of tradition and man’s strong desire for philosophical relief from anxiety didn’t set this whole ball in motion?
And now the weight of tradition keeps it going, as long as you don’t question too much, right?
I like your avatar. *makes double devil horns in honor of RJD* RIP!

There’s nothing to be doubtful about if you know and love God and Jesus Christ and are living your life as best as you can in accordance to what it says. That’s where faith comes in. The Bible wouldn’t have been around for so long if it wasn’t true.

A reasonable question…

so much of what’s published in the bible is supported by other historical writings, and/or the archeological record, it’s hard to say that ALL of it is fabricated.
but then, true believers don’t rely upon you or anyone else to provide justification for their faith.
that this question was even posed says more about the fragility of the inflated ego of the questioner than some absence of understanding or pretense of insight. in short, I’m laughing..

have you ever taken the time to investigate it? The Bible’s historicity is accurate, the information is
constantly confirmed by archeaology, over 300 prophecies completely fulfilled, written by eyewitnesses. There is more proof for the accuracy of the Bible than any othe ancient text.
(33,000 manuscripts and more being found from the time period all testifying to the same thing.
I’m just scratching the surface. Read "Evidence That Demands a Verdict"
(google it) you will have tons of proof.

All eyewitness accounts in the New Testament are consistent with each other. What is stated in the Bible turns out to be true. We become what we allow to enter into ourselves, whether it be food or information. Read slutty stuff and you will end up becoming a rathr slutty person in turn. Hear negative things about a belief long enough and you will begin to accept it as being true, even if it isn’t.
You can question the Bible as much as you want and it won’t change a thing about it. It won’t change a thing that God is going to do either.
Are you going to tell me that the wisdom found within the Proverbs is faulty? And if someone way back then was so much smarter than us today, what does that say about education today? I didn’t become a Christian to relieve anxiety. I became one because I was able to see the truth of what was being read in that book. The reason that Christ had to come is consistent with what was written in the Old Testament so many years before. You just need to embark on a quest to honestly seek out the truth concerning the Bible. Be open minded about it, hold no prejudices going into this venture. Good luck!

It depends on your kind of logic, and whether you are more or less inclined to trust the testimony of others.
For instance, Richard Swinburne holds that we normally accept what others tell us to be the truth, unless we have good reason to deem the witness unreliable, or if there is strong evidence to the contrary (the principle of credulity).
On the other hand, David Hume argued that we frequently hesitate to believe the reports of others, "unless the testimony be of such a kind that its falsehood would be more miraculous than the fact which it endeavours to establish".

So I guess it makes more sense to assume that hundreds of unconnected people over centuries of time would all perpetuate some of the most convoluted complex lies ever made then?

Academia states that in the absence of proof of the existence of something it must be deemed not to exist until verifiable proof is found – thus god is held not to exist pending some sort of verifiable evidence.
There is not one single mention of Jesus in the entire Roman record – that is right – not one!!! At the same time as he was supposed to have been around there were a number of Jews claiming to be the messiah – all of whom are well recorded!!
There is not a single contemporary record from any source and even the bible mentions of him like all other references were not written until many years after his supposed death!!
He was supposed to have been a huge problem to the Romans and produced wonderful miracles but still not one contemporary record?
Even the bible mentions of him like all other references were not written until many years after his supposed death!!
Pilate is recorded in the Roman record as a somewhat lack luster man but no mention of a Jesus, a trial or crucifixion that would surely have been used to make him look brighter!!
At best he was an amalgam of those others!!
The Roman Emperor Constantine produced the bible and he was a pagan not god!!! He also organized Christianity into the Holly Roman Catholic Church!! Not in Israel or any of the countries of supposed origin but entirely ITALIAN!!
Not one word of it is contemporary with the period and was not written until several hundred years after the period the story is set in!! How did the apostles write their books more than a hundred years after they would have been dead?
What a wonder full disinformation and deception campaign he waged against his Christian enemies – so good in fact that Christians are still following the deception to this day!!!
The first person to provide a shred of verifiable evidence for God will become world famous and mega rich!! Ain’t happened yet and it never will!!
So how does this primitive belief survive? The answer is simple and very down to Earth!!
Acceptance of a supernatural claim tends to promote cooperative social relationships. This communication demonstrates a willingness to accept, without skepticism, the influence of the speaker in a way similar to a child’s acceptance of the influence of a parent. By encouraging this kind of behavior where the most intense social relationships occur it facilitates the lack of skepticism and deters more open minded thinking.
They are christian, Muslim or the other religions depending where they were born simply because they were indoctrinated by their parents as very young children. They will go on to indoctrinate their own children and those will go on to indoctrinate their grandchildren!!
Atheists have the intellect to see through the conditioning and escape into the real world!!
Agnostics have the intellect to see through the conditioning but lack the courage to throw of the conditioning entirely.
Sadly Christians are still held firmly prisoner by the self perpetuating brainwashing!!

because in the old testament God told men what to write down Jeremiah 30:1,2 and the new testament was writen by the apostles and Jesus told them he would bring to their remberance what to write down,

I don’t mind the so called transcribed words of Jesus. It’s when we see various letters to congregations written by the disciples to establish doctrine, and the right wingers favorite book of science fiction, The Book of Revelations, it gets sketchy to me. All I need is the Sermon on the Mount and the Golden Rule.
