Help me brainstorm: My mom wants to work with babies, what are some jobs?

She does not want to be around blood or to work in a day care setting though.
And she does not feel confident enough to go back to school to become an RN or a teacher right now.
Before I do more research on this subject, I wanted to see if anyone has some ideas so that I can direct my research more effectively. Thank you in advance!
Ultrasound technician?
I’m not sure. Pretty much anything non-medical with children would only involve daycare or teaching. Anything medical would require schooling. And so would any careers in teaching…this is a toughie.
You might have a hard time finding anything baby-oriented that’s not daycare that doesn’t require schooling or anything medical, unless she works in a retail store that sells baby merchandise or something.
I suggest she goes back to school and gets some real training so she can make this career choice better. She won’t regret it, even if she doesn’t feel confident enough right now. She WILL regret NOT going to school.
shes being too picky… babysitting individually is the best thing if she dont wanna do any of that stuff. she needs to stop being so picky or she wont have a job at all

There is a program where i live called birth to 3 that goes into peoples homes and evaluates the developement of the children and works with them if they need help in a certain area of developement.

She could be a nanny or babysitter. Work in a children’s store. Work at the library.

Well if she can’t be bothered doing the rest, having another baby is always an option-

There are places for fitness with the mothers and babies. They have bounce houses and floor mats for activites and such I dont know the names of them but they are like gym for mom and child. Also she could babysit if she wanted, A few things she could do is get involved in neighborhood activites that are geared towards children. WHere I use to live they had certain days in the park where the kids were welcomed to come and do crafts and playgames. It was arranged by a mom. Hope this helps

She could be an LPN which is a very short program.
She could work at those baby gym places like Playful Tykes and Gymboree. The YMCA although that’s childcare, but maybe she could teach a class like cooking or crafts or work in an afterschool program. That pottery place where the kids make their own and paint and stuff. Does she have a skill that she could teach, like piano in people’s homes or the kids could go to her home. Check places kids go for work like dance schools have desk work that interacts with the kids.
She could be a Nanny. She could be a teacher’s helper in the schools. Schools that work with disabled children hire people just to help the kids walk from class to class or eat their lunch.
I guess just try to be creative.

SHe could advertise to babysit. Check with the local YMCA or other places where there might be a short term daycare while parents work out.
Church Nursery.
With the economy it might be best to advertise to babysit. If you watch children from one family in most states you don’t have to be licensed or certified. SHe could advertise specifically for an infant, part time or full time then she might pick up occasional evenings.
She might check into the home respite care for kids. I am not sure what training you would need if any and I would think that you could be specific about how much care you would be responisble for.
